La prima lezione dello short course "introduction to network analysis with Pajek", tenuto dal prof. Aleš Žiberna (Università di Ljubljana, chair of Social Informatics and Methodology), si terrà giovedì 15 Novembre 2018 in aula B edificio F (Fisica)  orario 9-11.

 Il corso si svolgerà tutti i giovedi nel medesimo orario fino al 13  Dicembre (incluso) e per gli studenti regolarmente iscritti ad un  corso di laurea DISPES darà la possibilità di acquisire crediti F secondo il vigente regolamento.

 Per questioni organizzative, studenti e colleghi interessati a  frequentare tutte le lezioni del prof. Žiberna sono pregati di inviare  una mail al prof. De Stefano (ddestefano@units.it) e alla dott.ssa Frisano (sara.frisano@dispes.units. it).

 A fine corso a tutti i partecipanti verrà rilasciato un attestato di  frequenza.

Di seguito un breve descrizione dei contenuti del corso:
This is a short (10 hours) introductory course to Network analysis with freely available computer program Pajek. It will include both theoretical concepts and practical exercise. The following topics will be covered: Introduction to networks, network analysis and Pajek software; Explorations and decompositions of networks, identifying  important vertices, Community detection, Blockmodeling. Due to the short nature of the course, all topics will covered on a very introductory level, but nevertheless, after the course, students will be able to perform basic network analysis.
  Prerequisites:
 - No prior knowledge is assumed
 - For the practical part, students should have computers with Pajek
 installed. Pajek can be downloaded from:
